But if you love driving then you really do need to pay attention to just one little part\u2026 driving in the EU.<\/p>\n<p>If there is a no-deal Brexit, you will not be allowed to drive in the\u00a0EU\u00a0unless you have all the correct documentation.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Driving Licence and IDPs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The first element is pretty obvious you will need your\u00a0UK\u00a0driving licence to drive in an\u00a0EU\u00a0or\u00a0EEA\u00a0country. This one doesn\u2019t really change, you need to make sure you have a full, valid driving licence before stepping behind the wheel abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The additional element is that you may need one or more international driving permits (IDPs), depending on which country you\u2019re going to or through. To find out what you need you can check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/driving-in-the-eu-after-brexit-international-driving-permits\">governments own guidance here.<\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Insurance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You will need to carry a motor insurance green card when driving in the\u00a0EU\u00a0and\u00a0EEA. To get this please contact your vehicle insurance provider 1 month before you travel to get green cards for your vehicle, caravan or trailer.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Registration documents<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you\u2019re taking your vehicle to the\u00a0EU\u00a0for less than 12 months, you should carry one of the following documents with you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/vehicle-log-book\">vehicle log book (V5C)<\/a>, if you have one<\/li>\n<li>a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/taking-vehicles-out-of-uk\/for-less-than-12-months#taking-hired-vehicles-abroad-temporarily\">VE103<\/a>\u00a0to show you\u2019re allowed to use your hired or leased vehicle abroad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>GB\u00a0stickers and number plates<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You should display a\u00a0GB\u00a0sticker on the rear of your vehicle. You should do so even if you currently have a number plate, which includes the\u00a0GB\u00a0identifier. If you do not have this in place you could receive an unwanted on the spot fine whilst driving in the EU.<\/p>\n<p>So there it is.
