Flexibility with our Articulated Bellow Hoses

Bellow Hump HoseThe Viper Performance articulated bellow is specially designed for areas where the hose acts as a cushion to absorb lateral movement, compression and expansion as well as vibration. For these applications hoses without this construction would otherwise easily split under movement. Highly recommended to connect your charge cooler / Intercooler etc to pipework

These hoses are speciality built with 4 plies of Aramid / NOMEX reinforcements for high temperatures, rated for 250°C, peak for brief period & 220°C maximum working temperature.

Compared to our black Nomex Bellow Hose this offers much more movement, much more compression and expansion. The trade off is a little less pressure handling due to its thinner wall thickness of 4mm and slightly softer grade silicone of 60°ShA. This Articulated bellow would not be so flexible with a thicker wall and harder silicone rubber, it is therefore recommended for use where pressure is not high.

The brown coloured (Iron Oxide) silicone offers better heat stability compared to coloured or black silicone. Also features 3 more pronounced humps for better articulation and 4 Stainless Steel Rings to prevent the hose from ballooning.

The turbo loader hose is reinforced with 4 steel rings to prevent the hose from “ballooning” under boost or pressure, keeping the shape and integrity under any condition.

The low down on MOTs in 2020

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, drivers were granted a 6-month exemption from MOT testing in March. However, as restrictions were eased, all drivers whose car, motorcycle or van was due for an MOT test from 1 August were required to get a test certificate to continue driving their vehicle. This means that if your MOT test is due you SHOULD book it in for an MOT.

Drivers with an MOT due date before 1 August still receive a 6-month exemption from testing. However, all vehicles must continue to be properly maintained and kept in a roadworthy condition, and people are able to voluntarily get their MOT sooner should they wish, even if they are exempt from the legal requirement. It is important to remember that as a motorist you can be prosecuted for driving an unsafe vehicle.

While exemptions are still available for vehicle owners with an MOT due date before 1 August, it is vital that drivers still take their vehicle to be checked if they notice something is wrong in the same way that they usually would.

Our LSLM hoses are made with a specialist grade silicone normally used in applications requiring flame-retardant properties. The material performs mechanically as our normal automotive grade silicone, however, in case of fire, it will take longer to ignite. When burning, only low smoke and low toxic fumes are emitted.

The construction of fire retardant hoses is always made to your bespoke specification. The Viper Performance sales team will work with you on your project should you require specific construction. The number of plies will vary depending on the working pressure, bore size, and required wall thickness. A galvanised spring steel wire helix can be added for high or low pressure applications, or where extra flexibility or movement is required.

Viper Performance will be able to provide tooling for any shape, metal inserts, or complete hose assemblies.

The T-pieces are ideal for connecting dump valves, plumbing in breathers, or water hoses into your connection.

These T piece joiners boast a specially machined out groove area* for clamps to sit firmly into. This ensures the best possible leak free connection.

4 electric cars to watch out for in 2020/21

Here are some highlights of the latest electric vehicles available to order now and in the near future.

BMW i4

BMW has recently been converting much of its luxury car range into plug-in hybrids. Until now though, its pure electric offerings have been limited to just the i3 hatchback, which has been with us for seven years. BMW is however readying an all-electric version of the popular X3 mid-size SUV and even more interestingly, there is a new zero-emissions four-door coupé model on the way, known as the i4. This will form a key part of an expanding range of all-elected BMW ‘i’ cars expected in the next few years.

Volvo XC40 Recharge
The first of 5 all-electric models to be introduced by Volvo in the next five years, the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric P8 is available to order now from £53,155.

Peugeot e-2008

The Peugeot 2008 benefits from a sharp new design, which is worlds away from its rather frumpy predecessor. The interior has been similarly uplifted, with sharp styling, better quality materials and the introduction of Peugeot’s i-Cockpit digital driver display, which was previously only available on the brand’s larger models.

Citroën E-C4

The electric version of the C4 the E-C4 bridges the gap between a family hatchback and full crossover. It follows the current Citroën design language of voluptuous lines and bold front-end styling.

Upgraded Flexible Coolant Hoses now have smooth outer

flexible hoseOur flexible silicone hose is constructed with a wire helix embedded into the wall of the hose. We have recently upgraded these hoses which means that we offer smooth versions for 16, 19 and 25mm ID hoses. The hoses will have grooves on the outside for 32, 35 and 38mm ID hoses to help with getting the tightest possible bend radius.

A fantastic product to connect your coolant hoses or water hoses where normal pre-moulded elbows just won’t do.

How flexible are these hoses?

The hoses do have their limitations due to the wall thickness. They cannot bend into very tight multiple bends, for example a 32mm hose will do a U bend, or a couple of 90° bends to create an “S Shape” , the 35 and 38mm ID hose gets stiffer only good for gentle bends such as one 90° or offset angles where normal silicone hoses will kink immediately. The Greatest Cars Ever Made

The best thing about classic cars is that they are very different from today’s cars. There is no match for those classic vehicles whether it be the bodywork design or the engineering which went into solving particular mechanical challenges.

But there are a select few vehicles that surpass the rest in terms of performance, value, and bodywork. Although every historic vehicle enthusiast will have their own opinion of what makes a car great, here is a list (in no particular order) that we think are true greats.

Volkswagen Beetle (of the 1960s)

The Volkswagen Beetle became one of the most popular cars of the 1960s offering affordable transportation with a very distinct style. 21 million VW Beetles were sold before going out of production in 2003.

Lamborghini Miura

Turing from affordable everyday cars to a magnificent feat of engineering and design the Lamborghini Miura quickly became the world’s fastest production car after its release in 1966. The car’s sleek design with recessed headlamps is indeed a classic that many will remember from the opening scene of the original “Italian Job” movie released in 1969.

Jaguar E-Type

We can’t skip the Jaguar E-type when talking about the most instantly recognizable cars in the world.

Lamborghini Countach

When first released in the 1970s, Lamborghini Countach was a car like no other. Its wedge-shaped styling, gull-wing doors, cooling ducts, and so-called “periscopio” was just out of the world! This car that looked like something landed from another planet could easily reach nearly 200 mph.

Chevrolet Corvette C1

The C1 is the first generation of the Corvette sports car that became streel legal in 1953. Chevrolet Corvette proved that America, the land of huge sedans, can also manufacture a sports car as great as the Europeans.

Ferrari 250 GTO

Built between 1962 and 1964, the Ferrari 250 GTO is considered to be the greatest Ferrari of all time. The combination of the beautiful body and the legendary Colombo V12 engine made the car not only fast but elegant too.

McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 stands out as an exceptional achievement of design brilliance and excellent engineering. McLaren had made just racing cars until it went on sale in 1992. McLaren F1 was the first dedicated road car designed by the chief designer Gordon Murray.

Porsche 911 2.7RS

The Porsche 911 is praised on both racetracks and streets alike, instantly recognizable to many people. Car enthusiasts and collectors tend to consider the classic cars – those built before 1973 with a long bonnet – as being the most beautiful and elegant. It is one of the longest-standing sports cars ever built.

Adding to our vast size range we have introduced hoses with internal diameters of 254mm, 305mm, 355mm and huge 406mm. Great for industrial or marine applications.

From a 6 to 7 ply reinforced construction these large straight hoses offer excellent build quality with an inner liner. These large sizes are currently available in our standard blue colour.
